During a visit to the Moldovan capital Chişinău from November 19 to 23, the LED visited various projects and met with the Moldovan State Secretary in the Ministry of Education* Galina Rusu and the Director of the Department for Vocational Education and Training Silviu Gincu. Both sides reaffirmed their desire to further strengthen their cooperation in vocational education and training.

Together with the team from the LED Coordination Office, LED Managing Director Andreas Sicks and LED Project Manager Miriam Speh were able to see the progress of the project for themselves, for example during a visit to the Youth Maker Club (YMC), which LED has been supporting since 2019 (see photo). The aim of YMC is to offer vocational school students informal learning opportunities to strengthen their technical skills, digital skills and self-confidence. The implementation of the project is in the hands of the local partner organization ATIC (Link).

Also on the agenda was an exchange with SDC/SDC Country Director Guido Beltrani on the joint project “CREATIVO” (link to project sheet), which the LED has been supporting since 2019. Both “CREATIVO” and YMC are important elements of the LED country program in the Republic of Moldova.
