Vocational training
Vocational training platform for clean energy
Brief description of the project
Cambodia’s energy transition requires qualified specialists who meet the requirements of the industry. The state has ambitious plans, such as the national roadmap for the transition to e-mobility or renewable energies. It has also issued an ambitious energy efficiency directive. However, there is a lack of skilled workers to implement these plans and for the emerging labor market. Vocational education and training must respond to this shortage, but it needs a clearer picture of demand. This project closes this gap by identifying the need for skilled workers, casting it in a roadmap and supporting the qualification of skilled workers.
Project goals
The overarching goal is to ensure that Cambodia has the necessary specialists to ensure a sustainable energy supply for the country. To achieve this goal, all relevant stakeholders must work together according to their respective roles. Authorities, national energy supply institutions and the energy industry must discuss training needs and agree on priorities.
- Cambodia has the skilled workers needed for the energy transition.
- The associated demand for skills and manpower has been identified and documented by the energy stakeholders. The stakeholders are working together to provide needs-based vocational training for sustainable energy.
