Vocational training

Vocational training

Training of solar specialists

Brief description of the project

With the “Energy Skills 4 Youth” project, the LED and the municipality of Vaduz are supporting vocational training in the field of renewable energies for disadvantaged young people in Zambia. Zambia has been using hydropower for many years, but chronic droughts mean that the dams no longer produce enough energy. The promotion of training courses in the solar sector is a direct response to the challenges of climate change and contributes to the diversification and sustainability of the energy supply in Zambia.

The solar sector is expected to have a high demand for skilled workers and good opportunities for self-employment. The project therefore supports selected vocational schools in introducing new training courses in the solar sector. In this way, the project also contributes to reducing youth unemployment and strengthening the vocational training system in Zambia.
