Vocational training
Technical education for the green transition
Brief description of the project
The project aims to strengthen the role of technical and vocational education in supporting a just green transition of the Bolivian economy. INNOTEC is working with six Technological Institutes (ITTs) in La Paz, El Alto, Potosí and Santa Cruz to integrate green skills, environmental innovation and circular economy practices into training and institutional structures.
By networking the ITTs with green companies in the fields of waste management, electromobility and renewable energies, the project strengthens the relevance of technical education, promotes practical innovation and supports graduates in accessing new employment opportunities in the green sector.
INNOTEC places particular emphasis on gender equality and cooperation between the public and private sectors. This enables the technical institutes to modernize their programs and actively contribute to Bolivia’s ecological transformation and local economic development.
Project goals
- Young women and men who participate in the improved training programs acquire green and “greened” skills and use them to gain access to employment or self-employment in areas such as recycling, renewable energy and electromobility.
- The Technological Institutes (ITTs) provide high quality and environmentally responsible training programs, strengthen their institutional management and implement innovations that promote the green transformation of local economic activities.
- Economic actors and green companies work together with the ITTs to jointly develop innovations, increase the relevance of training and create new employment opportunities in the green sector.
