Vocational training
Strengthening young people’s education, employment and income opportunities
Brief description of the project
The Centro de Formación Integral Rural (CFIR) “Vera” is a state-recognized education center in rural areas outside Sucre. It offers children, young people and adults from economically and socially disadvantaged rural communities access to technical and vocational education.
The center includes a secondary school with a boarding school and integrated vocational training, a center for adult education and specialist courses in agricultural production recognized by the Ministry of Education, offering practical training for farmers from surrounding communities.
The strongly practice-oriented educational approach combines training with sustainable agricultural production, modern irrigation, renewable energies and animal husbandry. In this way, CFIR Vera improves the educational and income opportunities of disadvantaged population groups and makes an important contribution to the social, ecological and economic development of rural areas.
