Vocational training
Learning freedom: vocational training for imprisoned young people and women
Brief description of the project
The Progettomondo project strengthens the social and professional reintegration of young people and women in and after prison in Bolivia. It offers practical training in gastronomy, carpentry, leather processing and other areas relevant to the labor market combined with soft skills, restorative conflict and social practices and income-generating activities. Participants gain practical experience, improve their employment opportunities and learn to set up small businesses, which facilitates their return to society. The project also provides support to public adult education institutions and correctional staff in implementing up-to-date, labor market-oriented curricula and integrating restorative practices.
Project goals
- Empowering young people and women: teaching technical, entrepreneurial and social skills for employment or self-employment.
- Modernize education in the prison system: Educational institutions are implementing modern, employment-related programs that combine technical skills and soft skills.
- Sustainable reintegration: support in earning an income, in professional activities and in maintaining family and community relationships.
- Policy impact and scalability: strengthening public institutions and influencing national policies for inclusive vocational training and social reintegration.
