LED project manager Miriam Speh visits the ACEZ project in Zambia (Advancing Vocational Clinical Education in Zambia) together with the partner organization SolidarMed. ACEZ focuses on the establishment of three regional competence centers for the clinical training of medical licentiates (shortened training for outpatient doctors) and nurses. Once all three centers are up and running, they will offer 1200 students a year high-quality training places and a modern infrastructure, e.g. skills labs as well as research and seminar rooms. LED and SolidarMed have already met with representatives of the Zambian Ministry of Health this week to discuss the status of the project and the need for further action. The following week, the LED representative and the SolidarMed team will visit the hospitals and training facilities in rural areas of Lusaka province.
