The GirlsGoIT project supported by the LED has been on the road with a mobile classroom since the recent start of school in the Republic of Moldova (see picture on the right). On Saturday, October 8, several additional half-day courses for schoolgirls of different age groups were held at the high school in Peresecina, a village with a population of almost 8,000. They were taught how to program robots and various programming languages. These courses are part of GirlsGoIT’s information campaign to break down gender stereotypes and to further publicize GirlsGoIT’s services in Moldova, especially in rural areas. The lessons took place simultaneously in the schoolyard and in the school’s multimedia room. The course instructors are all former GirlsGoIT participants.
