Local dairy farming in Mali on a solid footing

The LED has made a noticeable contribution to promoting the local dairy industry in Mali and thus to national food security. From 2020 to 2022, the LED invested CHF 600,000 in the “COMPLAIT” project. The project was implemented by the Swiss organization Vétérinaires Sans Frontières (VSF) and the local Malian organization CAB Démé So. In this 5-minute video, Moussa Diabaté, Director of CAB Démé So, answers key questions about food security in connection with the promotion of local milk production and marketing in Mali – and explains how political measures, locally produced milk, food security and food sovereignty are linked in his region.
