The Liechtenstein Development Service (LED) will support the Smallholder Safety Net Upscaling Program (SSNUP) with 900,000 euros over a period of three years, from 2021 to 2023. Liechtenstein is co-financing the first phase of the SSNUP programme together with development organizations from Luxembourg and Switzerland as well as contributions from the private sector.
SSNUP aims to increase the productivity and resilience of smallholder farmers in Africa, Latin America and Asia. This is achieved through improved risk management and the promotion of sustainable, climate-smart farming methods. As a result, this program will not only improve the food security and living standards of up to 10 million smallholder households, but also contribute to the development of sustainable agricultural value chains.
