Support in the revision and implementation of curricula for agricultural training institutes
Brief description of the project
SAT has implemented the “Curriculum Implementation Support for Training (CISTI)” project in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture to strengthen agricultural vocational training systems and train qualified specialists. Since 2019, the project has developed over 23 institutionalized teaching and learning materials, established 33 demonstration gardens and reached more than 26,000 beneficiaries.
In the new project phase, cooperation will be extended to the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries. This will scale support to 43 national training institutes – by standardizing curricula, integrating agroecological approaches and strengthening institutional capacities.
Project goals
- Teaching and learning materials – including compendia, textbooks, practice-oriented handbooks and manuals – are developed, institutionalized and widely used at Agricultural Training Institutes (ATIs) and Livestock Training Institutes (LITAs).
- The personnel capacities at ATIs and LITAs will be strengthened so that the competency-based curricula can be implemented effectively.
- The institutional capacity to effectively review, develop and implement the competency-based curricula at ATIs, LITAs, SAT FTC, DTR (MoA) and DTRE (MLF) will be improved.
