We are delighted to welcome Leakhena Saroeurn as the new Deputy Country Coordinator in our Cambodia office. Leakhena brings over 10 years of experience in international development cooperation. Her focus is on program management, partnership development and the political embedding of projects. In terms of content, she has a clear focus on gender equality, inclusive employment and private sector development.
She has extensive experience in the Cambodian context and is very familiar with the challenges and opportunities on the ground. Most recently, she worked in a large technical cooperation project, where she was responsible for gender equality and inclusion in support measures for companies. Prior to that, she managed programs to promote women-led small and medium-sized enterprises for over five years.
We are deliberately using the coming months for close cooperation and handover. At the same time, the new LED strategy and the Cambodia 2027-2030 country program will be developed. This phase offers the opportunity to further develop existing activities and introduce new perspectives. The combination of many years of experience in the field of vocational training and sound expertise in private sector development creates a strong basis for this.
We are very much looking forward to working together and further developing our commitment in Cambodia.
