Radio can contribute a great deal to food security in Tanzania, for example. This is made possible by practice-oriented, agricultural radio broadcasts in the local languages. The broadcasts support small farmers in cultivating their land sustainably and ecologically without the use of pesticides. As part of the Radio L Advent calendar, the LED presented one of its projects, the Farmer Communications Program, to the public. This LED-supported project is coordinated and supported by the partner organization Biovision.
The LED project manager Patrik Aus der Au opened the 9th Advent door in the program “Geh statt Neh” on Saturday, 9.12., and explained in an interview with Radio L presenter Stephanie Fleisch how “development cooperation via radio” has a positive impact on several levels in this special project.
