To promote a more sustainable economy in Cambodia, the LED organised a meeting in the field of vocational education and training on 16 September with representatives from the World Bank, the development cooperation of Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Korea, as well as various donor organisations such as ILO, UNESCO, WWF, Plan International, Swisscontact, EnergyLab and geres. They all came together to discuss better coordination in vocational education and training for a more sustainable economy.
A more ecologically sustainable infrastructure and economy requires skilled labour. Vocational training therefore plays an important role in the transition to a more sustainable economy. Too often, a lack of skilled labour is an obstacle to switching to ‘green’ technologies.
Pius Frick, LED Country Coordinator in Cambodia, has been working here for months to network all stakeholders active in this field and establish a better flow of information between them. LED is building his reputation in Cambodia as a moderator and driving force in this strategic dialogue.
