Project Visit with SolidarMed in Zambia
LED project manager Miriam Speh visits the ACEZ project in Zambia (Advancing Vocational Clinical Education in Zambia) together with the partner organization SolidarMed. ACEZ focuses on the establishment of three regional centers of excellence in clinical education for medical licentiates (shortened training for ambulatory physicians) and nurses. Once all three centers are operational, they will offer 1200 students per year high-quality training places and modern infrastructure, e.g. skills labs as well as research and seminar rooms. LED and SolidarMed have already met this week with representatives of the Zambian Ministry of Health to discuss the status of the project and the need for further action. The following week, the LED project manager and the team from SolidarMed will visit hospitals and training centers in rural areas of Lusaka province.
