This project strengthens practice-oriented technical education and digital skills to better prepare 1,200 young people for entrepreneurship and skilled employment across the sustainable tourism value chain in the Amazon and the Andes.
Working closely with training centres, the public sector and private businesses, the project strengthens relevant skills, facilitates the transition into the labour market and creates new income-generating opportunities. In doing so, it contributes to the sustainable economic development of both regions.

The project works across several levels of the vocational education and training system – secondary education, higher technical education and adult education – and supports tourism-related training programmes at eight public vocational training centres. At these centres, curricula are updated and practice-oriented programmes are offered, covering areas such as sustainable tourism, gastronomy, handicrafts, coffee production, digital marketing, customer service and business management.
This enables young people to acquire both the technical qualifications required for careers in tourism and the skills needed to develop their own business initiatives and successfully enter the labour market. At the same time, teachers are trained and regional stakeholders from public authorities, the private sector and local communities are involved in multi-stakeholder processes to ensure the project’s long-term sustainability and strong local ownership.

Project goals

To promote the socioeconomic inclusion of young people in the departments of La Paz and Pando by strengthening the sustainable tourism value chain and related sectors such as gastronomy, handicrafts and coffee production. The project combines public technical and vocational education, the development of impact-oriented businesses, digital innovation and multi-stakeholder collaboration, with a consistent focus on environmental sustainability and territorial development.

The project strengthens sustainability within the education system by training teachers, modernising curricula and offering practice-oriented programmes. Young people acquire technical, digital and entrepreneurial skills, while sustainable tourism initiatives are designed to become firmly established in the regions over the long term.
The project’s sustainability is further supported by a broad network of existing partnerships at national, regional and municipal levels, bringing together public authorities, education departments, public training centres, the private sector, as well as community and youth organisations. This helps integrate the links between education, labour market integration and entrepreneurship into local governance and development planning. In addition, young people are actively involved in developing proposals and agreements, strengthening their participation in local development processes.

[79
75
post-4765","projekt","type-projekt","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","schwerpunktland-bolivia","sektor-vocational-training
["GET
