This project, co-funded by LED, strengthens food security and the resilience of farming families in Burkina Faso. The region faces major challenges: climate change, soil degradation, and an ongoing crisis are hampering agricultural production and threatening the livelihoods of many families. <\/p>\n\n
Supporting farming families, ensuring food security<\/strong><\/p>\n\n In collaboration with the Swiss organization newTree and its local partner tiipaalga, measures are being implemented that combine the protection of natural resources with sustainable agriculture. The goal is to restore soil fertility, regenerate vegetation cover, and strengthen the population\u2019s resilience to environmental and economic challenges. <\/p>\n\n Farming families receive training in agroecological farming methods and learn to use natural resources sustainably. By promoting the natural regeneration of trees and shrubs, facilitating the exchange of experiences among farming families, and supporting community gardens\u2014particularly for women\u2014crop yields are improved and additional income opportunities are created. <\/p>\n\n The project helps increase agricultural productivity, improve families\u2019 food security, and protect local ecosystems in the long term. At the same time, it empowers local people to manage their farms independently, efficiently, and sustainably. <\/p>\n\n In this way, the project makes an important contribution to improving food security, protecting natural resources, and creating better prospects for the rural population in Burkina Faso.
